How Does Gratitude Truly Affect You?

Have you ever felt gratitude?

Think back to a time in your life when you really wanted something and you got it!

  • How did that make you feel?
  • Were you happy?
  • Were you thankful?
  • How long did that feeling of thankfulness last?
For me, there has been plenty times in my life and especially as of recent; utilizing the power of the mind; where I have asked for something and I received it! I remember feeling so grateful and good with every achievement which allowed for me to just continue to attract positive things in my life. (Remember like attracts like.)
The feeling of gratitude is another powerful tool that will put your mind in place of optimism which ultimately will make you happier. From a business standpoint, practicing gratitude will add to your personal bottom line without a financial investment. Your investment is the continuous practice!

How does gratitude truly affect you?

  • Reduces a negative mindset- (it’s impossible to feel negative and to be grateful)
  • Allows for you to attract MORE of what you have- (feeling happy with what you have allows for the universe more)
  • Strengthens your relationships-(being thankful of those in your life and why you are grateful for them, will attract  more of the same traits from them and/or new people with similar traits)

Sometimes we are so clouded by the negative things or things that we do not want in our lives that we forget to be grateful for all the wonderful things that are good in our lives. Every one of us has a least something that we could be grateful for.

To invest in your personal success, impacting your personal brand, try adding these practices of gratitude to your lifestyle.

  • Gratitude List (can be written or mental note)
    • Think of 3 things you like and are grateful about yourself
    • Think of 5 things you are grateful for right now
    • Think of 5 things that happened today that you are grateful for
    • Think of 3-5 people you are grateful for
  • Create a Gratitude Journal
    • Every day find something to be grateful and write it in your journal. Increase your list by the numerical day.
    • For example, if starting at the first of the month, you would have 1 entry on day 1 and 30/31 things that you are grateful for at the end of the month. It’s ok to repeat things but try to find new things every day.
  • Thank Someone!
    • Email, call, text, etc. someone and let them know how grateful you are to have them in your life.

Remember that gratitude is a state of mind, a practice; a tool to help us with attracting the lives that we want and appreciating what is already in our lives!
